| Fossil Creek Recreation Technician (2 openings) | Serving with Coconino National Forest in the beautiful Fossil Creek Wild and Scenic River recreation area, these positions will help support the Forest’s Recreation Program, focus on maintaining and improving the quality of recreational opportunities on the Forest, and help to ensure that visitors have safe, clean, and positive recreational opportunities and experiences. Team members will ensure recreation sites are maintained and improved, interact positively with visitors to provide education on important Forest information, rules, and regulations, and perform a variety of projects and activities in support of the Fossil Creek permit reservation system. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in gaining meaningful work experience with a land management agency. The selected members will be based out of the Verde Ranger District office in Camp Verde. | Fish Technician – (2 openings) | Serving at the Alchesay–Williams Creek National Fish Hatchery Complex, the Fish Technicians will support fish hatchery operations and aquatic resource conservation, rearing a combination of Brook, Brown, Apache, and Rainbow Trout for sport fishing. Assigned duties will include daily fish culturing, feeding, harvesting (raceways, tanks, ponds), water quality monitoring, data collection on hatchery populations to study health and propagation methods, fish hatchery operations and studies on efficiency, caring for fertilized eggs in trays, observing fish behavior in response to feeding, cleaning, and husbandry operations, determining feed regiments, treating fish disease, collecting and recording data (hard copy and digital), general maintenance and fish hatchery upkeep, use of hand, power, and landscaping tools, and minor repairs on hatchery equipment. They will receive training in daily hatchery routines, working directly with hatchery biologists and management. | Forest Recreation Technician (1 opening) | The Recreation Technician will help to contribute to the Red Rocks Ranger District by keeping trailheads, campgrounds, and recreational facilities operational to meet visitor expectations, assisting with litter removal, collection of visitor use data, inspection of recreation areas and those of concentrated public use, contacting visitors to provide information about recreation regulations, opportunities, and current restrictions, maintaining District fee machines that play a critical role in funding District operations, maintenance and improvement of signage, conducting infrastructure improvement projects that protect resources and enhance the overall visitor experience, and keeping supervisors informed of conditions assessments in the field as needed and participating in mitigation of risks and hazards. | Sedona, AZ | May 11, 2026 - November 6, 2026 (anticipated) | Apply Here! |
| Biological Science Intern -Apache Trout Crew (4 openings) | The Biological Science interns will be part of a seasonal field crew conducting backpack electrofishing surveys of headwater streams in the White Mountains for the purpose of monitoring the status and trend of Apache Trout populations. | Kofa Biological Technician (1 opening) | The Biological Technician intern will assist the Refuge staff with daily operations through a variety of tasks on the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge (Kofa NWR). The majority of work on the Refuge revolves around managing habitat and water resources for the Desert Bighorn sheep and the Sonoran Pronghorn, which includes removal of invasive species, construction, and repair of water catchments, hauling water to catchments and wildlife drinkers, and educating the public about these species and the Refuge in general. Kofa NWR also supports a large, designated wilderness (547,719 acres), which requires monitoring for and correction of illegal wilderness incursions by vehicles. Other duties will be to assist with NEPA documentation, wilderness reporting, and data management for the extensive camera trap project on the Refuge.
