| Special Uses Individual Placement (1 opening) | Tonto National Forest is seeking to mentor a Special Uses Individual Placement who will undertake tasks like drafting letters, going on inspections, re-issuing annual recreation permits, and other activities, to help accomplish its goal of managing current recreational resources in ways that are beneficial to both people and the natural environment. The forest as a whole will benefit from their presence. The member can expect to be involved with conducting permit inspections, processing permit reissuance, general filing, scanning, and database maintenance, and will have the opportunity to shadow other Forest departments. | Seasonal Individual Placement (IP) Member Support Coordinator | This is a six-month seasonal position, with the opportunity to apply for a second term upon completion of the initial contract. The Individual Placement (IP) Support Coordinator will have a pivotal role within AZCC's IP Program, working collaboratively with the IP Program Coordinators as an integral member of the IP team. The IP Support Coordinator will assist with a variety of responsibilities, including recruitment, onboarding, and providing ongoing support to members throughout their service term. This position offers continuous opportunities for networking with organizational leaders and active engagement as part of AZCC’s IP team. | Botany Technician (2 openings) | The two Botany Technicians will work closely with the District Botanist, youth crews, and independently on a variety of tasks, such as early detection and rapid response to invasive species, inventorying, mapping, and monitoring of invasive plant infestations in areas where wildfire suppression activities occurred, and removal of invasive plants. They will also work to inventory and monitor rare native plants, collect native seed, and re-seed disturbed sites. Other opportunities may include research and analysis, GIS mapping, participating in interpretive and educational outreach, and taking part in various trainings. | Recreation Technician Crewmember (1 opening) | The Cave Creek Ranger District of Tonto National Forest is seeking a temporary, full-time Recreation Technician Crewmember. The primary focus of this position will be monitoring and controlling access to highly developed recreation sites, in addition to conducting vehicle patrols and fee enforcement, at recreation sites on the Forest. | Payson Recreation Technician (1 opening) | The Payson Recreation Technician will work within a small recreation team and focus on both the Tonto Basin Ranger District and the Payson Ranger District, where they will support and complete weekly project lists at developed recreation sites, such as cleaning facilities, picking up trash, checking on fee compliance at recreation sites, and working with campground hosts. Other projects will include light maintenance, repairs, installation of signs, and use of weed eaters and pressure washers as needed. The Recreation Technician will regularly interact with USFS employees, campground hosts and USFS volunteers, and members of local communities, and will get to see how the USFS manages a large recreation program.
